This nifty little three-and-a-half star layout is just 3 miles outside of Madison, and also features a nine-hole executive course as well. Opened in 1990 by the Brandt Family, this Madison golf course is well liked and heavily played by Madison area residents. One reason is the value: $20-$30 for nice fairways and greens surrounded by water and intersected by Door Creek.

This public facility just a mile outside of Madison features an 18 hole championship course, and a new 9 hole executive course completed in July of 2002. The championship course is a par-72, measuring 6,436 yards. Art Johnson is the architect, and this Madison golf course has been opened since 1957. Green fees are in the modest $25-$35 range.

The Bridges Golf Course

The newest public golf course in the Madison area, The Bridges opened in May of 2000. Designed by the Feick Design Group, this Madison golf course features plenty of water hazards. It measures 6,888 yards and the green fees fall in the $25-$40 range.

Located just eight miles from downtown Madison, University Ridge Golf Course resides on the property of the University of Wisconsin. This Robert Trent Jones Jr. design opened in 1991, and has since earned national praise for its condition. It measures 6,888 from the championship tees. The course received a four-and-a-half star rating and was voted in the Wisconsin top five golf courses in 2002. This Madison golf course is a steal at only $35-$55.
